Ameno lives up to its name and its motto —"café con calma", coffee with calm—: a specialty coffee shop with its own kitchen in Palmar de Santa Anita, built for sitting down without rushing. The space is bright and serene, with light wood tables, leather chairs, a wooden lattice screen and windows that let the morning light in. What separates it from a regular coffee shop is that here you actually eat: its sandos and breakfast plates arrive carefully plated —reviewers mention it again and again— and chef Rogelio often steps out of the kitchen to ask how everything was. At the bar, matcha is the house playground: the Salty Matcha and the iced matcha with toasted coconut are the most talked about, alongside oddities like the latte with banana pudding.
