La Barranca was born in late 1994 in Mexico City, when guitarist José Manuel Aguilera and bassist Federico Fong started recording together. Since then, with Aguilera at the helm, the band has built one of the most respected discographies in Spanish-language rock: from "El Fuego de la Noche" (1996) and "Tempestad" (1997) — with anthems like "Día Negro" and "Akumal" — to their latest material, "Antimateria". Instrumentally dense rock, poetic lyrics and an impeccable live reputation.
