Time until the performance
The world's most famous ballet comes to Teatro del Estado: Swan Lake, with Tchaikovsky's immortal score, white feathered tutus, classical technique and the enchanted-lake scenery. It's Mexicali's classic end-of-year family outing — one performance only, Saturday, November 21 at 6:00 PM, an early curtain that works great with kids.
The story is the one everyone knows, and that's why it works: Prince Siegfried falls in love with Odette, a princess cursed by the sorcerer Von Rothbart to live as a swan by day. Between the white swan and the black swan (Odile), love and deception, unfolds the ballet Tchaikovsky premiered in 1877 — it hasn't left the world's stages since.
Swan Lake visits Mexicali regularly — there were performances in December 2025 and May 2026 — and it tends to fill the Teatro del Estado. If you want the central sections, don't wait until show week.
