María Daniela y su Sonido Lasser play Mexicali on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 8:00 PM at Foro Dragón: Halloween night with the band that got a whole generation dancing to "Pobre Estúpida" and "Chicle de Menta". The show is presented by Séptima, and tickets are sold on Primera Fila, online and at the Hotel Lucerna box office.
Behind the name —which they now also use as the acronym MDYSSL— are Daniela Azpiazu and Emilio Acevedo, who have spent more than two decades making electropop with eighties synths, heartbreak lyrics with a dark sense of humor and a low-budget sci-fi look. In early 2026, after many years as independents, they signed with ONErpm to distribute their new chapter.
That chapter already has songs: in March they released "Pobre Estúpida (Amigas y Rivales Mix)" with Denisse Guerrero, and in September "UNA CUALQUIERA" with Princesa Alba. They bring those to Foro Dragón along with the classics from "Juventud en Éxtasis" and "Mdyssl".
