Fouacé Café
Specialty coffee and sourdough pizza: the café daughter of Fogassa Pizza
About Fouacé Café
Fouacé Café is the second brand of Fogassa Pizza, the sourdough pizzeria at Plaza San Pedro, and the name says it all if you know where to look: "fouace" is a French bread from the same family as the Catalan "fogassa" and the Italian focaccia. In its green-fronted shop on Aviación Avenue, in the Prohogar neighborhood, that baking heritage shows in the paninis served on focaccia —the pesto one with goat cheese is the crowd favorite—, in the sourdough pizzas and the daily bakery, next to a specialty coffee bar with lattes, flat whites, dirty matcha and seasonal drinks with names of their own, like the Christmas Buñuelo Latte or the Summer Tonic. The interior is modern and minimalist, quiet enough for a good conversation, and the owner sums up the story better than anyone: "three years ago I did not even like coffee, and today I own my own café".

Order pizza at a café
Sounds odd, but the pizzas come from Fogassa Pizza, its mother brand: artisanal sourdough. Pizza + matcha is their signature combo.
The name is a bread pun
Fouace (France), fogassa (Catalonia) and focaccia (Italy) are the same hearth bread in three languages. The pizzeria gave birth to the café.
