About CEART Mexicali

Mexicali’s State Center for the Arts (CEART) stands on Calzada de los Presidentes at Ciudad Victoria, in the Zona Río, next to the Convention Center. It is run by the Baja California Ministry of Culture and turned 21 in January 2026.

Art workshops for all ages

Its main role is arts education: it offers more than 50 workshops in literature, dance, music, visual arts, theater and fine arts for children, teens and adults. For the fall 2026 term, enrollment ran from August 17 to September 11 and classes run from August 31 to December 12, according to Zeta.

Galleries and exhibits

Its International Gallery has shown some of Baja California’s best-known artists. At the end of each term it exhibits student work: in July 2026 it showed more than 160 paintings, drawings, photographs, ceramics, mosaics and mixed-media pieces, free from Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 8 PM.

Theater, concerts and events

CEART also hosts plays, concerts and immersive exhibits in its Plaza de las Artes, Foro Experimental and Convention Center. For its 2026 anniversary the Baja California Orchestra gave a free concert.
