We are not making it up. In the meantime, the full 2026 program is below as a reference for how a day at AgroBaja is organized, and this page gets updated as soon as the organizers publish the 2027 details (in 2026 the program came out in February).
AgroBaja is the largest agriculture, livestock and fishing expo in northwestern Mexico, held every year in Mexicali since 2001. It is organized by the Patronato AgroBaja, a group of Mexicali Valley producers, on its own fairgrounds just outside the city: the Expo AgroBaja fields at kilometer 7.5 of the San Felipe highway. In 2027 it reaches its 26th edition, Thursday March 4 through Saturday March 6.
It started as a farm-business fair — machinery, supplies, technical conferences and a business center where local producers close deals with buyers from Mexico and abroad — but for years it has also been a family outing: there is a rodeo every day, a livestock exhibition with a petting farm for kids, dancing-horse shows, a livestock auction, a wine and gastronomy pavilion with cooking demos by regional chefs, and live music in the late afternoon. In 2026, the 25th-anniversary edition, close to 47,000 people came through in four days.

The 2027 prices are published on the visitors section of agrobaja.com and tickets are sold online through Boletia. Seniors with an INAPAM card and people with disabilities do not pay, but must pick up a zero-cost ticket at the box office. If you buy online, save the code on your phone: the fairgrounds are outside the city and cell coverage can be spotty.

Eight zones on one site. The first three are what fill the weekend; the rest are the reason the expo exists.
Cattle, horse and sheep exhibition, an interactive petting farm for kids, a rabbit show, dancing-horse performances and, on Saturday, a livestock and colt auction at the ring.

Cooking demos by chefs from Mexicali and the Valley, a dynamic wine tasting with a sommelier, Baja California wine, cheese, dates and craft beer. Live music in the late afternoon.

The 2027 program has not been published (in 2026 it came out in February, a month before the expo). Meanwhile, this is the complete official program of the 2026 edition, as handed out by the organizers. It shows when the rodeo usually runs, when the auction or the dancing horses fall, and how early the conferences start. 2027 times may change; when they come out, we replace this table.

The fairgrounds sit on the Mexicali–San Felipe highway (Federal Highway 5) at kilometer 7.5, in Colonia Colorado 2, just past the edge of the city heading south. On Google Maps it shows up as "Expo AgroBaja (Campo)". From downtown, count on 20 to 30 minutes by car depending on traffic: take Lázaro Cárdenas Boulevard east until it meets the San Felipe highway and follow the kilometer markers; on expo days the flow of cars and the flags point the way.
Parking: the organizers have not published whether it is paid or how it is set up for 2027. If you go on Saturday, when the auction and the dancing horses fall, arrive early. There is no public transit to the gate; without a car, your option is a taxi or a ride-hailing app — and arrange the ride back, because cars are not always available at the site.
Coming from Calexico or the Imperial Valley: cross at either port of entry, take the expressway south and exit onto the San Felipe highway. It is the same road that leads to San Felipe and the Valley of the Giants, so if you are visiting, the two can be combined.
