Jessy Bulbo is one of the most road-worn voices in Mexican punk. She started as bassist and singer of Las Ultrasónicas, the garage band that became a reference point for rock made by women in Mexico: she joined in 1996 and left in November 2002 after several fallouts within the group.
She has been on her own ever since, and it is that solo run she brings to Mexicali: it began with Saga Mama (2007, Nuevos Ricos), continued with Taras Bulba (2008) and Telememe (2010), and she has kept releasing since. Along the way she also did film: she starred in El lenguaje de los machetes and wrote its original score.
If the name rings a bell but you cannot place it, you may already know her: "Maldito" is one of the tracks playing on East Los FM, the radio station in Grand Theft Auto V.
Ranked by streaming plays — this is not a setlist; the tour does not publish one. Note that "Qué Grosero", the song many people look for, belongs to her Las Ultrasónicas years; she recorded her own version in 2011.

Foro Dragón has another big date this year: Disco Bahía on October 10. Same room, same general-admission format, the opposite end of the musical spectrum.
