About Juventud 2000
Juventud 2000 is the city-run recreation center of the Xochimilco neighborhood, on Boulevard Anáhuac. It is managed by a municipal agency, the Patronato del Centro Recreativo Juventud 2000, and brings together courts, green areas, a pool and a playground on one site. The entrance has a red wall with its name, a red tower and a large metal canopy.
An 8-hectare park opened in 2000
It was built between November 1999 and September 2000 on an 8.19-hectare lot in the Xochimilco urban development, and opened on November 17, 2000. The Patronato that still runs it was created in 2001.
What you can do
Its photos and recent reviews show covered basketball and multi-use courts, a lit soccer field, a playground and a snack bar. The pool with its water slide has been out of service for more than two years: in October 2026 the Patronato said it will not be demolished, that repairing its pipes and pumps would cost 1 to 1.2 million pesos, and that the goal is to reopen it next summer (El Imparcial, Oct 21, 2026). The Patronato also runs sports classes and rents spaces for parties.
