Charcoal tacos & the famous carne asada stuffed-chile taco · Mexicali

Asadero Tres Pablos is one of the most beloved charcoal taquerías in Mexicali, a family business that opened in 2005 and over the years has become a must-stop for anyone after real tacos in the late afternoon or the early morning hours.
Its strength is charcoal-grilled carne asada —juicy and well seasoned, chopped on the board and served with freshly made tortillas, house salsas and every topping that goes around it— hence the slogan, "Tacos go with everything!"
The creation they are known for is the carne asada stuffed-chile taco, uncommon and hard to find anywhere else. Next to it, the long taco list: al pastor, suadero, cabeza, tripe and Spanish chorizo.
The menu is rounded out with quesadillas and queso fundido, burros, stuffed potatoes, tortas and aguas frescas —the strawberry one is among the most ordered. The bill runs about $120 to $260 per person.
This is a late-night place: it does not open on Mondays, runs 4:00 PM to 1:30 AM Tuesday through Saturday, and on Sunday opens at 3:00 PM to close at 11:30 PM.
The spot on Calzada de las Américas is spacious and clean, with plenty of seating and parking; although it fills up at night —especially on weekends— service is fast. It accepts cards and contactless payment, and delivers through DiDi Food.
Reference prices: $120-260 per person. May vary depending on what you order and the season.
A place highly recommended by locals for eating tacos. Prices are reasonable, but at peak hours you might not find an available table. Highly recommended when you visit Mexicali.
